A single human has the propensity to donate 8 different organs and tissues when they die. A donation saves lives and improves health for more than 400 people in New Zealand every year, who would otherwise die or suffer a limited life without this gift.

Organ donation is not as common as you’d imagine it to be. It takes a special person to be able to make the decision while living and also to be able to emotionally distance themselves  from the idea that after their death their organs will live on.

Personally I’m all for it but it hasn’t always been that way. Has anyone got a real life experience regarding organ donation to share?
